How to follow one
Run /layup add in the channel you want the feed in and start typing in the team option. Discord searches as you type and shows up to twenty-five matches, ranked so an exact key beats a name beginning with your letters, which beats a later word beginning with them, which beats a name merely containing them. A team-scoped feed applies no category filter and notifies on everything — that is the loudest scope the bot has, on purpose, because someone who named one team wants all of it. The alert types page shows what “everything” means in each sport and how to narrow it afterwards.
Golfers and drivers are followable the same way. Both are individual sports, so competitors sit in the same autocomplete as clubs; following one golfer gets you every hole of their round rather than only the leader's.
Teams FAQ
- My team is not on the list. Can I still follow it?
- Not yet. The lists are exactly what the bot’s autocomplete offers, generated from its own startup load, so a team missing here is missing there too. The FCS and World Cup notes on the football and soccer pages cover the two places coverage is partial by design.
- Why do some abbreviations appear in more than one sport?
- Because the leagues reuse them: BOS is the Celtics, the Bruins and the Red Sox. The team option is an autocomplete rather than a text box for that reason — pick the entry and the sport comes with it, and where a school fields teams in two sports the suggestion reads school · sport · conference.
- How often are these lists updated?
- They are regenerated from the bot's loader and the date is printed on each list page; this set is from 2026-09-13. Expansion clubs, promoted sides and new tour cards appear when the provider lists them and the lists are next regenerated.
